Dressing Up !

Well, it was the night of the homecoming dance. Logan and her friends spent hours doing thier hair and getting dressed up. Such girly fun!

It was also the night of the ward trunk or treat. Paige is a watermellon fairy, Seth started out as Hephesus
(A greek God) however since no one knew what that was and everyone thought he was Zeus;he decided to just be Zeus. So for Halloween night he will carry a lightning bolt instead of an axe. You can't see my wings in this picture, or you would know I was a bat!

Luci and Meg got in on all the dress up action as well!

I love to see the Temple

Without being aware we bought a house (from Spain) where the building that was designated for us to attend church at is directly accross the street from the newest temple being built in Arizona.

Shortly after we got here they started construction and we were sent to another building for Sunday's church meetings. This opened the parking lot for construction materials and managment temporary offices.

The leadership thanked us for our sacrafice. In the old days of building Temples, members would donate thier china for the decorative details. Many hours of back breaking labor for the building of a Temple. So moving to a different building was not a big sacrafice. I will admit though I was some what sad not to see the weekly progress . So I decided to take a drive over there today and document the changes. Of course the parking lot is full of construction items (as promised) Other than the small patch of beautiful bright green grass with a small cemenet path in the middle of the desert landscape- it is just begining.

Pumpkin Carving Day

I am not sure if its the slime between your fingers or if its the excitment of someone giving you a knife and letting you cut something to bits. Maybe its the mess you can make and no one gets mad, but we all love pumpkin carving day. I can't say I always have. I'll have to admit when I had 3-4 small kids all who needed a lot of help to get this done, and not cut themselves. When they were little it seemed I found pumpkin slime and seeds all over the house for weeks.

Times have changed. Paige was the only one who needed a bit of help and I carved my own pumpkin and enjoyed it.

The kids helped clean up and we ended up with 8 pumpkins carved from the 5 of us. It was a great night.

We all enjoyed the slime between our fingers, the earthy smell of the pumpkins and hacking the heck out of something.

Crunchy salty roasted pumpkin seeds weren't bad either!

The Walk in Movie Theater

Tori and her friends had a "walk in movie night" as in a "drive in" but no cars in our back yard!

We started with a cute slide show that Logan put together of Tori's baby pictures, and then after that and hamburgers and hotdogs, they watched "Edward Scisorhands" and ate popcorn and candy.

After the movie there was some fun music, dancing and an ice cream bar with cool popcorn cupcakes.

It was fun , Tori has a great group of friends and she is welcoming in the 15th year on a great foot!

(look you can see our new patio/side yard)

SOLID!

Finaly we got the cement laid in the back yard.

Now it feels like the side yard is realy a part of our yard and not just a bed of rocks.

It's great!

Goodmorning 15

This morning Tori turned 15 she got up early for a drama dept. meeting at school and she and I sang happybirthday over some egos and sausage before she dashed off at 6:30am.....

I guess thats fitting since it's what she loves the most. Drama that is -not eggos and sausage, although she does like those too!

It's amazing how time flys. It couldnt have been much more than a year or two ago that I was in that week long labor to and from Layton and drinking all kinds of liquids and jumping on the bed because I was too excited to see her (as well as sick of the constant contractions).

She is such a hoot to have around , and we all love her generous spirit!

Happy Birthday Tori!

A day at the Farm

Seth shot the tomato cannon and hit a target! He won a free t-shirt!

If you get 70 degree weather in phoenix you need to think its fall (even if it is high 70's and if the next weeks forcast is going to be tripple digits again) Enjoy it while you can. We barrowed a tiny niece since our big teenagers feel they have out grown pumpkin patches and headed out for a wonderful day. Seth and Paige loved all the animals. They would have stayed all day if they could have , grinding corn and feeding baby chicks and ducks. Lexi loved looking at everything. We all enjoyed the Kettle corn. Seth was the only one brave enough to do the corn maze and apparently thought it would be funny to run through it screaming there was a Griffin coming.

We picked up our pumkins for carving and had a wonderful day. Today there is oumkin bread in the oven and a breeze outside so we are enjoying it a bit longer!

Happy Fall You All!
