Spring Break 2012

Spring Break adventures included; "Hunger Games" hysteria. We made our own MockingJay pins and waited 2 hours to see the first showing of the movie at midnight. (if you don't know what a Mocking Jay Pin is, you need to read the "Hunger Games" trilogy)
We made our own calzones in our villa wich was also a lot of fun to have a little "Stay -cation" with crazy bubble baths and lots of pool time!
We wound it all up with a trip to a "Food Network" treat at "Sweet Republic" - ice cream artistry!
Lots of fun! Lots of relaxing! Lots of Strode adventure!

The Great Sport Debate

After nearly 2 years of floating from activity to activity Seth finaly settled on base ball. This was a great relief to finaly have a place to focus and work on, yet a little stressing because the last time he played base ball he was 5 and it was T- ball. we spent the most of our time yelling at him (out in out field) to stand up and quit picking the flowers.
He seems to have a good coach and the coach seems realy good at teaching basics and being realy possitive so Seth is enjoying himself. Next weekend is the first game, we will see how that goes!

Yep this is what pops into mind when you say "I want to be on a roller derby team" so when your 9 year old utters those exact words, what do you do?

Well, you tell her roller skating skill should be improved before you look for a team! Here we are at great skate EVERY SATURDAY, improving our skating skills!
(Thats her on the far rt. red shirt ,skating on one foot!)

The Luck of the Semi- Irish

I've never belived in the idea that one's nationality indicated the ability to procure "luck"
I guess thats good, cause between all of us there just isn't a whole lot of "Irish"
However we are a lucky bunch!
The first Saturday of Spring break was St. Patricks day. We checked into the time share resort in Scottsdale.
-LUCKY!
Ahh! a week of relaxation is ahead! Yep, those are my feet propped up and the kids in a heated pool roughly the size of a small lake with a hot tub hidden behind a waterfall. -LUCKY!
After our check in and relaxing in and by the pool we headed in for our St. Pat's day meal of baked potatoes with all the toppings and Yummy green cupcakes. -LUCKY!
We are Lucky!

Temple Update

It was actualy my mom who reminded me I was going to do a record of the building of our Temple. I stoped over outside of visiting hours - yes there are certain hours they'd like you to visit. So I just got a few pictures, but there is a tour you can do and some sweet little missionaries who will tlak to you if you go during visiting hours.
While the poured foundation and giant cranes are impressive, you might find it funny to know what impressed me the most.
Thre is a sign on the trailor that says "Owners Office" I felt a giant leap within my heart at the fact that I am an owner! I am!
This is my Temple, My family moved buildings so it could be built, Our tithing and other contributions aid in its construction. I see over it in all it's fases, and I will work in it when it is done. It's out of this world awesome!

A weekend of AMAZING theater!

I am so glad my kids enjoy the theater as much as I do. They are great companions to great shows. A lot of times they are the cause of great shows!
This last weekend we had an amazing time seeing Wicked at the ASU Gamage theater. It is a great show and so wonderful to spend an evening out with my big girls (Seth and Paige were a little upset) enjoying such great performances. The best part was the following day when I took Seth and Paige to see Tori (an orphan) in the school play of "Annie" SOOOO cute, she was just darling and so expressive. Really added to the show .
We love theater and it's never better than when your heart swells with the pride your little one singing and dancing until her heart is content and knowing she enjoyed every minute of it.
I have always said theater is the best job any where, because at the end of a long day of practice and work and performance you get an applause! Every job should have a moment at the end of thier day when they can stand and soak in some applause!
