We very quickly made a stop about 3 hours away to wash puke off the car. It turns out that you can get car sick from playing video games as well as reading in the car. Eyes up on the road. Let's go.
A stop at the lava tubes to hike a little bit and stretch our legs in Malpais, New Mexico.
They were super cool. Not just to look at, but in temperature. It was nice to get out and see something especially something as refreshing as a hike in some cool temps.

We stayed the night in Albuquerque, and happened to stumble on a church festival. It was celebrating 318 years of existence in this town and it was fun. Cute gazebo out side the church with banners and a band. Carnival rides were the highlight for the kids, we also enjoyed some funnel cake and it was a lovely evening to walk from our hotel to the celebrations. We noticed unlike AZ the temperatures dropped to a lovely and bearable evening in New Mexico.
The add boasted of this 9 ft pop bottle sculpture that has a light show at night and over 160 flavors of pop. It was fun looking through some of the crazy flavors and picking out a few for the road. The craziest flavor we got was maple with chocolate covered bacon. It mostly tasted like a maple cream soda with a little salty after taste.
We visited the cutest little museum. "Tinker Town" full of hand carved dolls and set up in little scene's. Old time western town or circus scene's.
Kitchy little sayings and signs. Soda pop bottle walls and strange things collected from all over the world. I highly recommend this stop if driving through 40 E !
Our stop in Texas was short and just for a massive burger for dinner. But Paige and Seth did note the stereotype of Texas things being "BIG" and all of the people saying "Ya 'all" was in fact a fact.
Then we saw a lot of this. Some more of this, and a little more of this as it got cooler and rainier and greener. Paige mentioned that the earth wastes a lot of water we could have used in the desert.
We landed in Ft. Leavenworth at about 7 pm and were happy to be out of the car but not looking forward to phase 5 at all. Phase 3 and 4 were a lot of fun!

So fun. Nothings better than a good ole road trip. Yes, the earth does waste a lot of water...I am learning the same Paige :)
ReplyDeletePREDESTINED FOR WHAT? BY STEVE FINNELL
ReplyDeleteAre men predestined? Yes, but predestined for what?
Those who, believe that Jesus is the Christ, are predestined for salvation.
Men are not predestined by God "to believe" in order that they may be saved. All men have free-will to believe or to reject Jesus as the Christ.
Ephesians 1:11-14 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory. 13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation---having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.
The Ephesians were sealed with the Holy Spirit because they believed; not because they were preselected "to believe" in order to be saved.
DOES THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER TEACH PRESELECTION FOR SALVATION? No, it does not!
Luke 8:11 "Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.
Luke 8:12 Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.
Did God send the devil to take the word from their heart because He did not preselect them for salvation? Of course not. Neither did God send the devil to deceive Eve, so Adam and Eve would sin against Him.
Luke 8:13 Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.
Does God let some believe for a while; then cause them to fall away because He did not preselect them for salvation? No, He does not.
Luke 8:14 The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones have have heard , and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.
Is it logical that God would have the gospel preached to those He has already selected to burn in hell?
8:15 But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, hold fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.
Salvation is achieved by an honest and good heart. God does preselect babies in the womb and transplant a good an honest heart in them, so they might be saved.
