Like in most American homes the Christmas tree is a tradition. In our home when Logan became big enough to care she wanted to put the star at the top. We allowed her as a privilege of the oldest child. She ws able to do this for years and years. Then for a few short years it became Tori who was the oldest and earned the right to put the star on top. Last year when it should have been Seth's turn he relinquished it to Luana who had stepped in as the oldest child. This year Tori came home and Seth was again not the oldest child.
It didn't matter, it was time to step over that tradition and make a common sense call. This boy is home for his last Christmas before serving for two years in someplace likely far from us and it was his turn to put the star on the tree!
And an amazing job he did! He is so proud of himself!
Oh and Paige and I made sugar cookies!
Merry Christmas
