Adventures of The Strode's: That wasn't the plan

We were going to northern Italy, a six day road trip with 4 or five cities and fun stuff planned when Dan sat down on the couch and said, I think instead we should go to London. Kasey and Jeanne sat near by wondering how this conversation would go. Jeanne pretended to do her nails while Kasey jumped right in to the crazy conversation on how London would be better despite the other plans I had been making because I had been wanting to go and it was my birthday.

Little did either of them know that this is typical for Dan, He doesn't usually want to get too involved in planning and trip planning . He usually shrugs his shoulders and says sure whatever. However when it is all happening he always says "why are we doing this" or "Why didn't we do it that way" "well it would make more sense if.." I have tried many times to explain to him that time has come and gone, however it still hasn't sunk into his head that there is a time for planning and then there is a time to shut up and go along for the ride.

So I was just breathing deeply and counting to 6,000 in my head trying to keep my cool. He is all along siting reasons why I had wanted to go to London, and then under his breath he said " and theres comic con"

Kasey about busted a seam, and Jeanne cracked a smile in her pretending to not notice stance.
Well, I try to be flexible and it wasn't as well planned as I would have liked, nor was it what I had planned for the week... but we went to London and it was a great vacation with amazing cool weather in comparison to Italy.

The London eye was not on the to do list as everyone felt like the one in Las Vegas was bigger and better and they had already done that on a trip with Uncle John.

We walked all over London and enjoyed getting semi lost down tiny streets with beautiful row houses and amazing architecture.

Then there was Stone Henge:

This was Jeanne's request and we weren't sure if we would be able to fit it in, however there was this horrible thing that happened. I booked the airline tickets for the wrong days and we had to go a day before we thought we were going. Which is only bad because we only realized it about 10 hours before the flight and Jeanne was rushing back from Venice with only three hours of sleep and a long drive ahead of us we made the flight, and had an extra day to enjoy this.

It happened to be one of the best days of weather we had while there and it was for sure a bucket list item that was incredible to see. We learned that people 3k years BC had build this has a burial ground and they also believed the location had healing powers. They build this structure so that the summer and winter solstice light shone right in on the main center of the structure.

This is not the first pre- pyramid location we have been to if you remember in Ireland a few years ago we visited one with similar purpose and it also had use of the solstice. It is very interesting to me and I think I am going to look into the beliefs behind it.

These caps are all over the place in the area of Stone Henge. They are deep burial pits that a post war archaeologist filled with cement to preserve. Thousands of bodies buried here dating back thousands of years before Christ.
